I dont know if Christine is mentioned in another version of the song, but in the version of Wings for Wheels I have, the girl's name is Angelina, not Christine — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.225.61.48 (talkcontribs) 19:53, 13 February 2007 CS-Chrissie-WFW-Angelina>Thunder Road girls are Chrissie, Christina, Mary

I think this page should come up first when you type in thunder road and not some crappy 1958 movie [12:12, 12 November 2006 137.140.142.102]

It's arguable either way, but it doesn't bother me the way it is. The movie gave name to all the other things you see at Thunder Road (disambiguation). Wasted Time R 13:09, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Original Research

[edit]

"From the opening nod to the director John Ford ("The screen door slams" evokes The Searchers) to the romanticized look at American blue collar life ("You ain't a beauty, but hey, you're alright") the song transcends Springsteen's earlier works like "4th of July, Asbury Park, Sandy" on his previous album which seems in retrospect to be a sprawling, rough draft for this more concise song. It is widely interpreted that at the end Springsteen's character is looking for the good life ("pulling out of here to win") in a materialistic sense, but it is more likely he is searching for it in a broader spiritual sense. The song is also an ode to the open road and rock'n'roll in general, both strong themes in American rock, country and folk music; each genre being represented to some extent in this song."

That paragraphs, and some of the writing around it, reads like an essay, and further has no sources to back it up. I must conclude that it is Original Research then, unless it can be sourced well, and so should be removed, and the whole article cleaned up to show only what can be verified. --Falcorian (talk) 17:54, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Hope you're happy. Wasted Time R 00:23, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Seems rather drastic, I may be reverting it later, but I don't have time to read through it at the moment. --Falcorian (talk) 00:52, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That edit was way over the top, lost 2/3 of article. Restoring. Whatever the solution is, that ain't it. 192.102.82.253 20:41, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

benchwarrant17@yahoo.com Hi my name is Dave Tilson, I am the person who wrote the Brucebase section you copied word for word. By the way, I am about to revise it. Tillywilly17 (talk) 16:43, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I edited the background section to add citations for several things as well as tried to improve the readability of the section, I personally found it hard to follow (which prompted me to make these edits). I removed the template flagging the section as needing citations/containing original research/non-encyclopedic tone as I tried to address each of those concerns. I couldn't find any citations with the resources available to me (just Bruce's autobiography and various online resources), so I marked those individual statements with the citation needed template. There were only three left so hopefully that is few enough to avoid having the big template at the top. Please add it back if you feel it should still be there. Also hoping someone can add citations from other resources. DJfork75 (talk) 22:21, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Genre

[edit]

HI The Genre Of The Song Specifically Is Rock, But I Think Is One Of The Sub Genre! It Can Be Category As Folk rock, Symphonic Rock OR Maby Rock N Roll! LE.B.B (talk) 14:16, 28 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am going through this article to remove duplication, increase efficiency, and hopefully to create an organized format people can add to also will add citations where neededTillywilly17 (talk) 04:42, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
