I merged Thumb ring and Thumbring together, since they are clearly the same subject. -AndyBQ 06:10, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Mention different ring types
[edit]This article should at least mention the (main) two different types of ring: Manchurian (round ring) vs Mongolian (pointy ring) and the associated different draw techniques (hook string behind ring vs keep string on the ring respectively). Also, the 'Mongolian' ring is also known as 'Asian', 'Middle Eastern', 'Turkish' and 'Steppe' thumb ring. As you may figure from the wide variety of names, the 'Mongolian' thumb ring is very widely used, while the 'Manchurian' version far less so. 82.173.88.91 (talk) 17:22, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
- That seems like a good idea. We'd need references though. Richard Keatinge (talk) 17:34, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
