Moe Howard classifies the Three Stooges comedy

[edit]

In an interview with Tom Bergeron in 1972 Moe Howard was irritated by the fact that people say the Three Stooges comedic style is slapstick. He insisted that farce was their only comedic style. I wanted to honor Moe's memory by removing the term "slapstick" from the introduction and leaving "farce." DevoutBeast007 (talk) 19:23, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia reports what reliable sources have said, and reliable sources routinely describe the Stooges' style as slapstick. Nobody gets the final word in describing their own work; we can report what Moe said but it does not amount to a veto. Ewulp (talk) 00:16, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
