Merger with Strategic Corporal
[edit]I disagree with the proposed merger into Strategic Corporal. While a "strategic corporal" may be an important leader in a Three Block War, the two terms are quite independent. --JD79 02:56, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps you misunderstood. The tag referred to merging Strategic Corporal *into* the article Three Block War. The Three Block War is the main context of the Strategic Corporal. At present it seems likely to remain a stub and nothing more. If it expands further later, such that it merits a separate article, it can be split again. But for now, it is not well-linked (despite searching the rest of articles for this phrase), and probably won't grow. --Rifleman 82 03:21, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- I also disagree with the proposed merger, and I disagree that the Three Block War is the *main* context of the Strategic Corporal. As JD79 says, the two terms are quite independent. It (the Three Block War) was the *original* context, but with time its use has evolved. The strategic corporal (or even the strategic private) can perform acts in front of a camera that have nothing to do with a Three Block War, but have enormous strategic ramifications. I agree this may not quite be what Krulak had in mind when he penned his article in 1999, but these days the term is more widely used than its original context. Pdfpdf 07:36, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
