Basque?
[edit]I've been to the Basque country, and many other parts of Spain, but where the tambor is played the most appears to be Leon.
Latin American use
[edit]I'll try to come back to this later, but there is a ton on GoogleBooks about pipe-and-tabor musicians in Latin America, particularly Mexico. The pipe often goes by the name chirimia, somewhat confusing as this is also the name for a local primitive oboe. But the descriptions and even pics make it clear that term is also used for a standard three-hole flagolet played with a drum. This info would be great to add, and if anyone is more on the ball than I, it'd be great if you could add it. MatthewVanitas (talk) 19:33, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
