Creation

[edit]

Hi everyone! I am a student in Dr. Strassman's Behavioral Ecology course at Washington University in St. Louis. This is my second large Wikipedia assignment in the course. I have created this page and included the following sections and subsections: Description, Geographic range, Habitat, Home range, Food resources (Adult Diet, Benefits of Acorn Consumption/Polyphagy; Seed Dispersal), Life history, Physiology (Flight; Olfaction), and Threats. I have also created the Taxobox and added two images of the beetle, one image of the geographic area in which they live, two image displaying their food resources, one image displaying oak characteristics, and one image of ivermectin tablets. Article Feedback

[edit]

The use of media in this article is excellent. The images greatly enhance the reading experience by breaking up the text and making it more engaging. The well-organized sections also contribute to the article's clarity. I made minor edits to the sentence structure, such as condensing sentences for clarity and italicizing words that needed italicization. Some sections to consider adding include possible mating behaviors and any additional agricultural importance this beetle may have. Overall, this article is very well done, with only minor edits needed.JacksonPanWashU (talk) 16:59, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fantastic job, I agree with Jackson's comment that this article is excellent. I similarly made some minor grammatical corrections. I also agree with Jackson's comment that more on mating systems could be added, and potentially some more comprehensive descriptions of the beetles life cycle. Otherwise, the article was very interesting-- especially the information about their acorn diet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ardenpedraja (talkcontribs) 01:17, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is an excellent article! I liked how the article is well organized, with every section providing lots of information while being very clear and explanatory and very little grammatical errors. My only comments are that I added a minor grammatical change of adding a comma to a sentence, and that perhaps the Life History section can be expanded since that section is very short relative to the other sections, so adding more information there would be helpful and make the article look even better. Otherwise, I don't think there's much if anything that needs to be changed about this article, as it was great to read. Marbleparade (talk) 23:31, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
