Spacewalks/EVA

[edit]

I'm wondering how many europeans, except Thomas Reiter has performed EVAs? Or was Reiter the first one? --84.49.146.87 07:12, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of spacewalks and moonwalks will show them all. I noticed Claude Nicollier of Switerland. Rmhermen 06:34, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nicollier's EVA was in 1999, as well as Jean-Pierre Haigneré's, four years after Reiter's visit to Mir and EVA. Jean-Loup Chrétien was the first, the remaining Europeans are Philippe Perrin and Michael Foale if you consider the latter's dual citizenship (US/UK), and Hans Schlegel. Though Thomas was the first German to perform an EVA (Hans Schlegel becoming the second on STS-122), and to my knowledge the first non-Russian/FSU to acquire that Soyuz command license. If the latter can be sourced it should probably be added to the bio. 91.33.245.50 (talk) 11:00, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hans Schlegel was not the second one. The swede Christer Fuglesang did three EVAs on STS-116.
