Thomas Lennon (filmmaker) → Thomas Lennon (filmmaker, born 1951) – WP:PRECISE ambiguous disambiguation is a bad idea. There are multiple filmmakers by this name (just as there are multiple screenwriters by this name). The current title should redirect to Thomas Lennon (disambiguation). -- 65.94.170.15 (talk) 05:20, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
- Not sure on this one - the other Thomas Lennon's aren't primarily known for filmmaking, although they have "made films". Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:46, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
- It's the same case as with the screenwriter Thomas Lennon (screenwriter, born 1896), where the others are not primarily known as such. However, WP:PRECISE shows that because they are such, they cannot be solely disambiguated ambiguously. He's not the primary topic of "Thomas Lennon" Therefore he must be disambiguated in a way that is not ambiguous with the others. The primary topic Thomas Lennon is also a wikt:filmmaker (producer and director), so this is insufficient disambiguation in all cases. -- 65.94.170.15 (talk) 11:54, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). @65.94.170.15 and Lugnuts: please discuss. SkyWarrior 17:35, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose as unnecessary overprecision in a title. In the unlikely event that someone wants a different Thomas Lennon,[1] any possible confusion is handled by the current hatnote. There's no problem here. And if a move really were necessary, it should be back to the original titles of Thomas F. Lennon or Thomas Lennon II; dates are almost always the least useful qualifiers. Station1 (talk) 21:06, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
- Comment we can use both those titles under WP:NATURALDAB, which would be better than the current title also. -- 65.94.170.15 (talk) 11:36, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
- I would have no objection to a move back to Thomas F. Lennon. Station1 (talk) 19:25, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
- NOTE to closer: So we have an agreement for Thomas F. Lennon -- 65.94.170.15 (talk) 05:04, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

- Oppose per my original points and those raised by Station1. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:07, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
- And what of Thomas Lennon (screenwriter, born 1896) ? -- 65.94.170.15 (talk) 11:37, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
- That was an undiscussed move a year ago and an earlier move two years before that. I would support a move back to the original title of Thomas L. Lennon. Station1 (talk) 19:25, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
- NOTE to closer: So we have an agreement for Thomas L. Lennon in place of Thomas Lennon (screenwriter, born 1896) -- 65.94.170.15 (talk) 05:04, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

Thomas Lennon (filmmaker) → Thomas F. Lennon – Per the last discussion, we have a rough agreement that the proper title of this article is "Thomas F. Lennon" per WP:NATURALDAB. That is a policy based move. -- 67.70.35.17 (talk) 06:05, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
- Comment fixing incoming links for the primary topic Thomas Lennon for people who thought this one was that one makes it apparent this is also insufficient disambiguation under the current schema, so moving it to "F." fixes that. -- 67.70.35.17 (talk) 06:07, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Station1:
- Oppose WP:COMMONNAME so not WP:NATURALDAB at all. cf Thomas Lennon (screenwriter, born 1896) In ictu oculi (talk) 06:49, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
- NB not sure why Thomas Lennon (screenwriter) is redirecting to Thomas Lennon (screenwriter, born 1896)? Shouldn't it be headed to Thomas Lennon (disambiguation)?? In ictu oculi (talk) 06:53, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
- I think that should be the case. The primary topic Thomas Lennon is a filmmaker and screenwriter, as well as an actor and comedian. So "screenwriteR" should point to the dab page -- 67.70.35.17 (talk) 23:17, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
- When I click on that link, I get to the dab page. So, I don't know what kind of error you've encountered. -- 67.70.35.17 (talk) 23:20, 13 August 2017 (UTC)

- Support as a small improvement. Thomas F. Lennon is a WP:COMMONNAME as well as being more WP:NATURAL. It will free up Thomas Lennon (filmmaker) to redirect to the dab page, just like Thomas Lennon (screenwriter) currently does. (Although, frankly, this is not a high-traffic article, so as long as the current hatnotes remain in place I don't think it makes a tremendous amount of difference. And if a move is carried out, current incoming wikilinks will need to be updated.) Station1 (talk) 05:27, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose. While he has been occasionally listed as "Thomas F.", there is no indication that any of his screen credits billed him with the middle initial. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 21:52, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
