Expansion
[edit]I've considerably expanded the article. I've not removed the request for expert attention because I'm no expert and I don't know exactly why exactly that attention was requested, as it doesn't say. However, there are plenty of on-line and printed sources for a short biography, so I've made use of them. I'll expand the section on Gerard's last years in a day or two. Gerard was a figure of middling importance and clearly needs more than a couple of paragraphs. Unfortunately, even those contained a number of errors, e.g. dates of elections (different from parliaments), military service in Ireland (apparently non-existent). However, there will inevitably be errors, omissions and questionable stuff in my additions too, so I'll leave it to others to correct them. Sjwells53 (talk) 21:25, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
