The title Baron Foley has been created twice. This article is about the 1st Baron Foley of the 2nd creation. His father Thimas Foley of Stoke Edith married five times, Hester Andrews being his first wife. I have seen (and catalogued) all the marriage settlements, which are in the Foley collection at Herefordshire Record Office, a collection currently entirely closed to researchers (reference E12/II/20A-20D). This confirms the accuracy of the account in Burkes Peerage. Elizabeth Ashe married Thomas Foley (c.1641-1701). They were the parents of Thomas Foley, 1st Baron Foley (1673-1733), of the 1st creation. NO MORE CHANGES PLEASE. This is a confusing family, because so many were called Thomas Foley.
