Thomas Carr bio
[edit]I have moved the Thomas Carr bio to Thomas Joseph Carr, and added info from the Dictionary of Australian Biography. --Jonathan O'Donnell 07:30, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
So, did a teacher/student/outsider start this wiki?
It seems to me this is a vanity page and should be deleted, or at least made less biased towards how awesome Thomas Carr College is
I'm wondering how the school could have been founded in 1667, when Australia itself was not established until 1788 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 14.201.13.83 (talk) 12:27, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
Prostitution
[edit]I dont know too many details about it, but something should be added about the prostitution scandal a few years back
- If you have a reference - please point us to it ? Peripitus (Talk) 23:46, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
heres a site about the sex scandal http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2002/07/25/1027497383248.html
- Hardly reads as a scandal - some kids playing around -> magnified on talkback radio -> died down and vanished once the truth was known. Peripitus (Talk) 09:18, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
It looks like Paul D'Stoli (the principle) played down the whole affair, which he would, because he wouldn't want the school to look like a brothel. However, I think there is sufficient evidence that shows that something did indeed happen, because depsite what D'Stoli says in public, the fact he took some sort of action implies that he was covering something up.
What about the girl who commit suicide? Does that also hardly read as a scandal? Does anyone have a link about it? I know she commit suicide after being constantly bullied on year 8 camp but dont have any references
Read my edit Below.
Controversy
[edit]I'm adding a controversy section as i believe there should be one, a girl who commited suicide, $5 hand jobs and students smashing businesses during muck up day ARE notable Ikfaldu Dod 16:33, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- Ikfaldu Dod, do you have a reference to back up the allegations? Without this the text should not be there Peripitus (Talk) 01:24, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
the $5 hand jobs is referenced, but the rest isn't
- The suicide and Yr12's muck-up day were documented in local papers. 165.228.74.207 (Talk)
Well I attend the school a couple of years back now. To add my side from what I know, The girl who Commited Suicide had nothing to do with the school as she only attended the school. The $5 Handjob scandel, was not true, how ever a Teacher Did catch a bunch of Yr 8's (At the time) preforming sexual acts, no money was involved. Students smashing Businesses During Muck up day was blown out of proportion, and wasnt just Thomas carr students. Thank you.
you are welcome. i too attened thomas carr and was the first student expelled. however in your above statement you are contradicitng yourself. this girl had nothing to do with the school, yet attended the school? oin what other way would any year 8 student be involved with a school other than attend it? she commited suicide after year 8 school camp, the school which she allegedly had nothing to do with apart from attend being thomas carr (sarcasm). the reasons given for the suicide is she was bullyed by her fellow thomas carr students (who perhaps also had nothing to do with the school except for be enrolled and attend?)
Moved specifics of convtoversy to talk page
[edit]I have moved the following section here, as it makes claims which have not been reliably verified.
including banning students from wearing hair gel and the more serious accusations of students charging $5 for "head jobs" and a student committing suicide for the bullying she received at school camp.
It should not be replaced until evidence is provided. To me this seems like schoolyard rumors. I have found information confirming that these events did happen, but nothing that confims the specifics, such as "$5 headjobs" or that the suicide was due only to the bullying. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Luckyherb (talk • contribs) 09:11, 10 February 2007 (UTC).
what do u mean buy specifics?
then should it be added that a girl commited suicide after alleged bullying?
