[edit]Proposed changes to this page:
I have contributed to this talk page because there are some inaccuracies in this article but I'm not sure how to go about correcting them. I understand that Wikipedia is not a place for original research so I thought I could reference them to my website which includes a biography of Thomas Wilson. Of course that reference can be seen as self-serving which is not my primary intention, and would it be considered authoritative? On that note, here are the initial proposed edits:
Birth Date: Thomas Braidwood Wilson's baptism (not birth) date was 29 April 1792. The source for this is his baptism registration which is fully referenced on my website Heaven and Hell Together, see http://www.heavenandhelltogether.com/index.php?q=node/326
Thomas was baptised in Kirknewton, Midlothian, Scotland, and there is no evidence to support citing his birth place as Uphall. Given the times, he was probably born at home which would have been the property known as Corston Farm, and which it would appear is also known as Crosstown.
Cause of Death: Thomas Braidwood Wilson died from a burst blood vessel in the lungs. The source for this is the biography of Thomas Wilson's daughter Mary Mowle, see the next point, and the Sydney Morning Herald of 20 November 1843. This is referenced on my website Heaven and Hell Together, see http://www.heavenandhelltogether.com/index.php?q=node/330 The wikipedia page currently states that he died of suicide and the source is recorded as the Australian Dictionary of Biography article on Wilson's daughter Mary Braidwood Mowle and authored by Patricia Clarke. The reference is cited as Clarke's biography of Mary Mowle "A Colonial Woman" but while that work does state that Thomas Wilson was of an unsound mind in his last days, it does not state that he committed suicide. There is no death certificate for Thomas Wilson. Johnhorton379 (talk) 00:56, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
