Surgeon or physician?

[edit]

@Tassedethe: What is your rationale for renaming this page? Bond's qualifications are as a surgeon, not a physician. Also, physician is not a term often found, or widely understood, in British English. SpinningSpark 16:45, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thomas Bond (American physician) was also a surgeon so naming this page Thomas Bond (surgeon) was ambiguous. I moved the page back to its original title to disambiguate it. Collins calls physician "old-fashioned British English"[1] but if you want to change this to Thomas Bond (British surgeon) I don't have a problem with that. Well Collins pretty much makes my point. No one says physician in modern British English. SpinningSpark 17:24, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
