Thioridazine chemical structure and enantiomery.

[edit]

The chemical name of thioridazine given should be: 10-{2-[(RS)-1-Methylpiperidin-2-yl-]ethyl}-2-methylsulfanylphenothiazine (emphasis on (RS)-, since thioridazine is a chiral molecule that is usualy distributed as a racemate);
its chemical formula given in the drugbox isn't correct, either; it has an aliphatic chain connecting the phenothiazine tricycle with the piperidine heterocycle of one -CH2- groupement too long; its correct chemical structure (with two-carbon-chain and chiral bond displayed), along with correct systematic name is given here:

the structure without text is here:

could someone be so kind and upload this? How do I upload an image on Wiki?--Spiperon 05:36, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

subjugation by drugs

[edit]
as a child in a childrens institution i was unwillingly administered

== melleril ==]]in hindsight i see the reasoning for their actions , yet wonder if it was a criminal act ? i did not agree to take it . it was added to meals and/or drinks to make one more manageable .i did not have a psychiatric illness to warrent the administration of this heinous substance , and am thanking the lord i did not get ill from it being forced upon me .my heart goes out to others who were not so lucky .how many in australia , or elsewhere suffered the same futility of forced drugging ? how did you cope ? what are you doing to right the wrong ?11:57, 6 January 2009 (UTC)58.169.194.234 (talk)k.r.s australia

Mellaril I too was forced to take Mellaril(thioridizine) as a teen in a state hosp.It caused great malaise,sexual impotency and sterility,agitation,dry throat and intense thirst so that I actually ruptured my stomach drinking water.It was a terrible period.Knocked senseless most of the time.No interest in anything.I talked like I was drunk,and couldn't keep a thought long enough to express it,so I rarely finished a sentance.This condition continues today. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.191.184.81 (talk) 16:35, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Add another "me too". Though I'm not sure which article would be most appropriate to add this, enough literature has been written about misuse of anti-Psychotic medications in the troubled teen industry(TTI) in the U.S. during the 70's and 80's to warrant some kind of inclusion in Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:601:907F:EF6D:258F:5339:844C:81F5 (talk) 10:32, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
