No evidence of 100M sales

The article says:

"the book had sold more than 20 million copies by the time of Hill's death in 1970.[4] By 2015, more than 100 million copies had been sold worldwide.[5]"

The links for this are broken.

And in light of the Gizmodo critique - https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2016/12/the-untold-story-of-napoleon-hill-the-greatest-self-help-scammer-of-all-time/ - I think we need a stronger and less biased source for sales than the Hill Foundation.

For comparison, How To Win Friends and Influence People has sold around 32 million copies, as has the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I would be surprised if TAGR had sold more than the two mega-sellers combined, but anything is possible.

I suggest that all such claims be removed until independent proof can be found.

An article in Fortune estimated 10 million sales by 1995 - https://archive.fortune.com/magazines/fortune/fortune_archive/1995/08/07/205128/index.htm

I think the safe thing to say is "over 15 million copies sold."

I'll update the article accordingly, and reference the Penguin page as the citation.

The first ref appears to be an Associated Press article. If so, copies should be able to be found. It should not be removed.

Sourcing anything to the Napoleon Hill Foundation should be used with extreme care, if at all. --Hipal/Ronz (talk) 03:21, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
