Taj Mahal did a cover of this song (i dont know when) but it can be found in his album "Blues with a feeling, the very best of Taj Mahal" this may or may not be notable but it does show that this song if sung by a woman is feminist, but can just as easily be sung by a man.

George Michael Song

[edit]

The chorus of the George Michael song Freedom! '90 is clearly derived form this song. Is that worht mentioning here? -- Avocado (talk) 02:43, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Writing of the Song

[edit]

Does anyone know the original meaning of this song? I'm not sure if it was written with the intent of being a revolutionary song and would love to know if anyone has any insight! Thanks! Boredteen (talk) 15:06, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
