[edit]Shouldn't there be a mention of the use of theta as a symbol of death? And the use of theta in mathematics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%98_%28set_theory%29) --Hccrle (talk) 11:42, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've added Θ (set theory), thanks. I didn't add the "symbol of death" thing, as I'm not familiar with that and didn't know quite what you meant; but please be bold and add it yourself. :-) —RuakhTALK 16:02, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'd rather not be too bold about something I know very little about. I saw a reference to the use of theta as a symbol of death in an episode of the American TV show Law & Order: Criminal Intent not too long ago. I realize that is fiction, but I don't think they make things like that up. And besides, it makes sense because the Greek word for death (thanatos) begins with theta; such English words as thanatophobia derive from it. --Hccrle (talk) 11:02, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- An independent TV station (KBWB, aka KOFY) in my area (San Francisco Bay Area) aired the episode I referred to above tonight. The title is "Bright Boy"; it was copyrighted 2002 and originally aired October 6 that year; the writers were Rene Balcer and Marlane Meyer. This information is according to the Internet Movie DataBase, where I looked it up using the episode title, which I got from TV Guide's website. --Hccrle (talk) 04:58, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
