Album insert lists wrong "Ave Maria"

[edit]

The album insert for this CD incorrectly credits "Ave Maria" to Gounod. The Wikipedia article correctly cites Franz Schubert. (Just in case anyone gets confused.) Gpswaney (talk) 04:59, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Les Cloches du Hameau authorship

[edit]

What do the album notes say about the authorship of "Les cloches du hameau"? We have been discussing this song at the Mudcat Cafe Folk Music forum in this thread: https://mudcat.org/thread.cfm?ThreadID=29025 As far as we can determine, the attribution to Brahms is incorrect. So far, this is the information we have on the song's authorship: The song is said to be written and composed by Albert Larrieu (Perpignan 1872- Paris 1925) -though not registered at the BNF. Larrieu spent some time in Canada and the song was collected by the French-Canadian priest and musicologist Charles-Émile Gadbois (1906-1981) in one of his "La Bonne Chanson" collection (1938-1951). It was also published in a 1957 school songbook "Chantons la bonne chanson à l’école". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joeoffer (talkcontribs) 07:39, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Joeoffer: This piqued my interest too and I managed to find the Mudcat thread you mentioned, wuhich led me to this from Library and Archives Canada, which is a good enough source for me to change the attribution over. Graham87 15:18, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
