Article Evaluation
[edit]Thermochronology is a rich and intricate field of study and this page does little to encompass that. Not only is the information lacking, but little is done to truly dive deep into the subject matter. Only one source is listed, and though it is a relatively good one, more can be done to expand the information surrounding this interesting subject. The source is unbiased and relevant to the topic, and the link in the Reference section is in working condition. More of the like should be added. Topics such as the history, the methods used, and more in-depth analysis of the common isotopic systems would be beneficial to the quality of this article, as well as adding more wiki-links and adding a section on modern applications of thermochronology. Looking into how thermochronology has helped explain global warming would be very interesting and informative for the article. Another important update that needs to be done is communicating this information in a way that common audiences, not scientists, would understand. Right now, the article has one or two words considered to be jargon, so that needs to be fixed. Furthermore, the talk page is very much lacking, with absolutely no discussion about thermochronology at all. However, it does denote that this article is part of the "WikiProject Geology" attempting to create a "standardized, informative, comprehensive and easy-to-use geology resource." Overall, the article presents the topic in a neutral manner, resulting in a good bare-bones start at an article.Kabernathy9 (talk) 02:50, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
