Son of Theodoros

[edit]

Hi User:Cplakidas: Could you please add an in-line reference for this edit?Zigzig20s (talk) 22:39, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm, I don't know I can find one right away, it's one of these common things that are so well known that they require no reference; it would be like requiring a reference that "Jameson" means "son of James" in English. Constantine 22:43, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it never hurts to add at least one reference. I don't think this is WP:SKYISBLUE because I didn't know this was the case. Is there a book about the meaning of Greek surnames you could cite please?Zigzig20s (talk) 22:55, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'll look for a reference (useful as well for the Greek names article), but I am puzzled a bit; unless you are Greek or know Greek, why would you expect to know that this was the case? WP:SKYISBLUE is not only for English, after all... Constantine 23:03, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Quite. And we are an international website, with readers from the four corners of the world. Another reason to reference it.Zigzig20s (talk) 23:05, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Since I am not in Greece, I don't have access to my Greek dictionaries, but I can give you a selection from a brief Google Books search: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], probably the last two are the most usable. Constantine 23:11, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a CN tag. Since you're the one who added this content, please add an inline reference. Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 23:13, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Just added a source. - LouisAragon (talk) 11:32, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
