Geers everywhere
[edit]Twisted86 and I were just discussing the impact of the Geer family on Salem area history. There is a Geer line railroad (from the locality of Geer, Oregon to Salem),[1] the R. C. Geer Farmhouse is on the NRHP (I believe Ralph Carey Geer (1816-1895) is T.T.'s uncle.[2] He is referred to as the Hon. Ralph C. Geer, but I can't figure out in what capacity he served the state), Geer Park in Salem was named for the Geer family [3], and they are connected with an Oregon Heritage tree [4], (and even Homer Davenport). Here are some photos. Is any of this in your dusty tomes, Aboutmovies? Katr67 19:52, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ye old Dictionary says he was in the Oregon Territorial Legislature, also imported sheep. Is the grandpa of Homer Davenport. At some point we need a Waldo Hills (Oregon) or Waldo Hills. Aboutmovies 20:18, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I couldn't find him on the terr leg page, thanks for fixing the spelling. Those Waldos were busy too. There was just a bit on NPR the other day about John Waldo; they were calling him Oregon's own John Muir... Katr67 20:23, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
