Number of animal species

The total number of animal species on the planet has to be only an estimate, but surely 1,500 represents only about 0.1%, not 1%?Dasyornis (talk) 04:19, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistent definitions

The introduction to this article claims thelytoky, "females are produced from unfertilized eggs," yet the diagrams go on to describe haploid males being produced by unfertilized bee eggs.
