I inspect a great many Wikipedia articles on Yorkshire places for another wiki-type project which deals with genealogy. I note how many articles spend much space on references to places in the Domesday Book and on the entymology of place names, but very little on what happened between 1100AD and the present day. Occasionally there is an extended trace of an upper class family or a mention of a village industry. These items deserve more space and attention than the Domesday book. Surely they are documented sufficiently elsewhere to provide the information in Wikipedia.
