Talk:The law of conservation of misery

maybe this should be linked with ashby's law (regarding variance)

to me, conservation of msiery is not about a "fixed" amount of misery (as implied by current text) but on the contrary about the fact that in a design process if somebody doesn't adress a problem (misery) in an early development stage, it will generate exponential misery in later stages to resolve the problem.

so i'd say: any problem (misery) that is not resolved(or discovered) at some point, will return and generate more misery. the later the problem returs, the more (exponential) misery it will generate when it comes back.

i had a similar thought and added a link to the 'waterbed theory,' an idea in computer science which is based on ashby. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:48F8:9013:68A:D545:833B:6814:90FF (talk) 23:06, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
