I will review this one. --Starstriker7(Talk) 23:24, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Criterion 1a (clear prose)

[edit]

Lead

[edit]

*"and serves as the 87th episode of the show." - Break this off into a separate sentence, like "It is the 87th..."

*"written by Joshua Safran (this was the second finale written by Joshua Safran)" - Incorporate the words in the parentheses into the prose.

You actually haven't quite addressed this one yet. --Starstriker7(Talk) 05:54, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Plot

[edit]

*"One of Blair's minions" - Minions should be replaced with a more neutral term.

*"kidnapping Blair and intends" - and how he intends?

*"Dan confronts her but she escapes" - Add in a comma between her and but.

*"similar fashion to Death Takes a Holiday which Blair accepts" - Add a comma between Holiday and which.

*"Chuck and Blair have a great time and have sex" - strike the "have a great time and"

*"Prince Louis (Hugo Becker) waits for her" - Clarify who "her" is.

*"until Serena sadly opens up her personal flaws and Charlie comforts her" - until Serena admits her personal flaws to Charlie, who comforts her

This one hasn't quite been addressed either. --Starstriker7(Talk) 05:57, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

*"Charlie calls her mother, revealing that she is in her own scheme" - I don't understand what "her own scheme" is. Could you clarify?

*"making a decision for her but" --> making the decision for her, but

*"will end in the fall" - substitute fall for autumn.

*"who is in fact a con artist named Ivy whom she hired to gain access" -> who is actually con artist named Ivy that is hired to gain access

Production (and its derivative sections)

[edit]

*The word intended confuses me. Was the two-part season finale canceled, or condensed to only one episode?

*"Peck would reportedly make his debut in the season finale" - Did he? This should be clarified.

*"Hugo Becker remained ambiguous on whether he would be joining the series as a recurring or regular cast member during an interview with Zap2it, stating "the answer is in the finale." - Same issue as the Peck comment above. As the episode has already taken place, is Becker now a recurrent or regular cast member?

*"The Airborne Toxic Event would be making a special" - The Airborne Toxic Event made a special

This hasn't been addressed yet. --Starstriker7(Talk) 06:06, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

*Include the information in the picture's caption involving von Ziegesar into the actual prose.

*"Peck would reportedly make his debut" - Did he or did he not? If he did, then strike the "reportedly."

Criterion 1b (lead, layout, wording, fiction, and list incorporation comply with Manual of Style)

[edit]

All set.

Criterion 2a (all info cited)

[edit]

*Reference 10 and Reference 11 are redundant. It looks like Reference 10 is from a blog whose reliability I cannot establish, so Reference 10 should be removed.

*Reference 13 doesn't discuss what it cites at all. Try to replace this reference with one that holds all the information that is described in the section.

I've removed this particular reference since it doesn't really hold water in discussion.Moderate greed (talk) 03:04, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

*Reference 15 doesn't discuss how "The Wrong Goodbye" is the lowest-rated season finale thus far for the series. Can you find a reference that does?

Reading the List of Gossip Girl episodes would clearly indicate that is currently the least watched finale in the series so far.Moderate greed (talk) 03:04, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It is generally not a good idea to cite Wikipedia using Wikipedia. As such a fact seems like one that could be challenged, it should be cited somehow...I understand that this tidbit is difficult to reference, especially because none of the references I have seen do mention this. If you can find a reference, do add it. If not, there are two other options: you can either do a complicated footnote thing that I can explain if you'd like (to avoid bunching up citations at the end of the sentence, which is generally not acceptable), or you can remove the claim from the article entirely. --Starstriker7(Talk) 05:50, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the claim. There aren't any references out there to support it as far as my search went. Moderate greed (talk) 23:47, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Criterion 2b (inline citations/reliable sources/contentious material cited)

[edit]

Nothing to report.

Criterion 2c (no original research)

[edit]

Looks like it passes here.

Criterion 3a (covers all main aspects of topic)

[edit]

*Something in the prose should be said about Blake Lively. A lot of the sources says that she is leaving the show to join the Hollywood scene.

I've included a parallel on Blake Lively's career path and her current roles and juxtaposed it to Serena visiting California and becoming involved in a Hollywood production.Moderate greed (talk) 03:04, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
None of the sources citing the information discuss a parallel, so it is probably best to leave the parallel part out and discuss each part separate from the other (unless, of course, you can find a reputable source to back it up as it is). I also kind of question how reputable the Superhero Hype source is, but I don't think it is necessary, especially with what the other two references describe. --Starstriker7(Talk) 06:04, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I checked the reliability of the Superhero Hype source and chose to remove it. I'm sticking to reports of Blake Lively's possible departure rather than the parallel between her and Serena van der Woodsen.Moderate greed (talk) 00:10, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Criterion 3b (stays focused)

[edit]

This one is a pass.

Criterion 4 (no undue weight)

[edit]

This one is set.

Criterion 5 (stable)

[edit]

This article is stable.

Criterion 6a (Non-free images have all necessary documentation)

[edit]
  • The image about Cecily von Ziegesar's appearance on the show is being considered for deletion. This needs to be resolved.
  • Likewise, the image about Airborne Toxic Event's appearance on the show is being considered for deletion. If you'd like, you can contest these two images at the link I posted above, but this should be cleared up.

However, as all three images are tagged and have rationales, this one is a pass.

Criterion 6b (Images are relevant and have good captions)

[edit]

*The caption for the Ziegesar image was discussed earlier, as are the files that are up for deletion. The von Ziegesar and Toxic Airborne Event images are being considered for deletion because their relevance in the article is not clear, so once that is cleared up, this criterion will be a pass.

I've decided to incorporate both citations for the Cecily von Ziegesar cameo image and the other on the The Airborne Toxic Event into the prose, since its more sensible.Moderate greed (talk) 03:04, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Overall comments

[edit]

Not far to go at all, Moderate greed! Nice work on the article. Your first WP:GA is well on its way, and will be a pass once all concerns are addressed. --Starstriker7(Talk) 15:39, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
