Photographs of the painting
[edit]There seem to be numerous photographs of the painting on the internet, but a lot of them seem to be photographs of reproductions. These three are obviously authentic:
- Photo by Bernard Silberstein of Kahlo working on The Wounded Table. (Note the Frida in the painting does not have a necklace.)
- Photo by Bernard Silberstein of Kahlo working on Diego in My Thoughts, with The Wounded Table in the background. (Note the necklace.)
- Photo of The Wounded Table being exhibited at the Palacio de Bellas Artes. (Note the necklace.)
These seem to be reproductions:
- Black and white version exhibited at the ZAMEK Culture Centre in Poznan, Poland. Also appears on the cover of this book. (Note the missing necklace.)
- Color version appearing in the Tate's Lost Art virtual exhibit. Same as the version here and here.
- This color version seems to be the licensed reproduction at the Kunstmuseum Gehrke-Remund (also here). (Note the necklace looks more like a bloody gash.)
Our thumbnail in the article appears to be of the Kunstmuseum reproduction. Kaldari (talk) 06:57, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
