Expansion
[edit]This article is remarkably skimpy for a significant band. I'm working on expanding it. Note citations needed. Main thing I need now is a better selection of contemporary references (press clippings, press releases), not just official or fan redigestions - David Gerard (talk) 12:53, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
- Expanded. A pleasant quiet Saturday afternoon :-) The one thing I need (which is commented out in the article text) is a citation that the band considers the US and UK versions of Queer to be albums you should listen to both of. I'm sure I read something like that yesterday or the day before, but can't find it now. Also, more "A Girl Like You" chart placings - it was thrashed on JJJ in Australia, that must have shifted a unit or two - David Gerard (talk) 15:02, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
Other Wolfgang Presses
[edit]- A Dublin publishing house, 1986
- A computer scientist, 2001.
- Wolfgang Preuß, a singer of hideous schlager. An earlier version of this article suggested he was where the band got its name, though that appears to be just original conjecture. I don't feel like writing Inga und Wolf just so I can create Wolfgang Press (disambiguation) ...
Any others? - David Gerard (talk) 21:48, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
- An Australian publisher of books of tattoo photos - David Gerard (talk) 07:53, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- Wolfgang's Vault has been referred to[1] as the "Wolfgang Press" - David Gerard (talk) 19:10, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- A Florida publishing house - David Gerard (talk) 20:57, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Name conjecture
[edit]Just placed by an IP and removed for no citation:
- The Wolfgang Press are named after the 'OK' Nazi portrayed by German actor Wolfgang Preiss in a sucession of World War II movies such as Von Ryan's Express, Raid on Rommel and The Boys from Brazil.
