FatalError, there is no WP policy on the number of genre's, and alt rock doesn't get to stay because that's what you think they are (or what other fans think they are or even what the band considers themself). the only genre's that should be concluded, really, are those supported by independent (separate from the band) reliable sources. see WP:RS and WP:PRIMARY.
