Clean-up tag:
[edit]This article starts out talking about the CA schools and then, towards the bottom, brings up the TN school and gives an external link to that school. It needs much better organization, as possibly a disambiguation of some sort. --Bobak 15:39, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
inaccuracy
[edit]Vivian Webb School was indeed founded in 1981, but not at the behest of Thompson Webb, because the latter died in 1975. The trustees wanted the school to become coeducational without compromising the original character of the boys' school. --bamjd3d
editing
[edit]The SAMGs (self-appointed moral guardians) are at it again, it seems. Why these deletions of prominent alumni like John Scalzi and William Boeing? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.27.73.102 (talk) 21:17, January 1, 2007
John Scalzi and William Boeing never went to Webb, nor are they or ever have been affiliated. --Carabl
- Admiral James Watkins removed. He never attended Webb, nor was he ever been affiliated. --Carabl
Tone and content violate Wikipedia's policy of neutrality
[edit]This article reads like a promotional brochure and needs to be re-written in a WP:NPOV. Until such changes are made, this article violates Wikipedia's official policy of a neutral point of view. RPrinter 23:40, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

This information is biased. Obviously promotional text from the school, the article is almost copied and pasted from the schools' website and brochures. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.175.190.154 (talk) 03:35, April 9, 2007 Marked for db-spam, no correction has been made in over 4 months. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.228.127.243 (talk) 00:30, June 26, 2007
- I took a shot at cleaning up the advertisement-type content and adding more references. Who decides whether more still needs to be done? For example, there is still quite a bit of information that, while clearly neutral in tone and certainly interesting, may be more detail than one would expect in an encyclopedia entry. (DISCLAIMER: I am not a student, alumnus, faculty, or staff member of the Webb Schools. I do live nearby, however.) --Shadow (talk) 00:46, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- In accordance with the policy expressed on Wikipedia:POV Cleanup, I am removing the Advert tag. As it says in the policy, "(If someone disagrees they can just put it back!)" It is not my intent to ignore the defects that prompted the tag; it is my intent to act in compliance with the section on Reconciling differences: "If you see a reasonable compromise to an old dispute, write it into the article, and remove the tag. If anyone disagrees, she will respond, or change it back." If more work needs to be done, please let me know. --Shadow (talk) 20:15, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Flatly untrue
[edit]Carabl, whoever you are: I don't know what your beef is, but I can personally attest that John Scalzi, the writer, did indeed attend Webb. I knew him there personally during my time there. John was a freshman while I was a senior, in 1983-84, and graduated in 1987, subsequently attending the University of Chicago. I am also quite certain about Admiral Watkins. If you don't like the schools, that is your privilege, but facts are facts. Bamjd3d (talk) 20:24, 6 January 2009 (UTC)bamjd3d
Notable Alumni
[edit]Should this be cleaned up to only include alumni that are notable?
- That's correct. I've removed the entries without articles. Will Beback talk 05:20, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
