Talk:The Warner Premium Sound series

I would like to stress that this article is not an advertisement, but it is about an important development in a format war between the SACD and the DVD-Audio. Also, the info available in the internet is only in Japanese, and seems to be very difficult to find, and therefore this appears, so far, to be the only English presentation on this subject. It is not clear what categories should apply, perhaps other people can supply these. Apanuggpak (talk) 22:35, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Hardware releases
[edit]The article stated: "Coinciding with the launch of the Warner Premium Sound series, Denon also released a surround receiver and a Blu Ray player which also supports SACDs and DVD-Audios. This is also an important development in the surround sound field, since before this it was common for Blu Ray players, most notably Play Station 2, not to play SACDs. Thus it is now possible to find hardware that plays any music format on the market." and refers to [1] stating "^ Warner Premium Sound info on Denon, JBL and ELAC Audio hardware. Retrieved 2011-11-03."
This is unfortunately wrong in many ways. First of all, there at least 10 brands offering SACD-compatibe Blu-ray Disc players, all except for one brand in fact also DVD-Audio-compatible (see [2], [3]). These have been introduced from about 2008 on, preceding Warner's Premium Sound Series by several years. Secondly, PlayStation 2 is not a BD player. PlayStation 3 is, but that *does* support SACD -- the first two generations at least, amounting to about 8 million units. Lastly, the link leads somewhere but not to a page about hardware.
I'm not sure how to fix this section, and think it's best to delete it. The Seventh Taylor (talk) 22:53, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
