Fair use rationale for Image:Beach Boys - Dance, Dance, Dance.jpg
[edit]Image:Beach Boys - Dance, Dance, Dance.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:31, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Confusion about the John Kennedy reference...
[edit]One of the sentences in this article is written in such a way that it sounds like the assasination of (President) John Kennedy occurred at a defunct hotel in Sacramento, California. President Kennedy was actually shot in Texas in November, 1963. It was his brother, Bobby Kennedy, that was killed in the old Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. However, that incident occurred in June, 1968, and this song was written years before that. Perhaps the article intends to say that this song was written at the old hotel in Sacramento, but it's not clear to me that the author intended to say that. Maybe the original writer can check and edit this...

- Absolutely. Unfortunately none of those claims came with citations. Also a previous attempt to delete the paragraph was simply undone without any attempt to fix the many problems with it. To avoid further edit-war nonsense I've made a "proposed" fix: the two unreferenced apparent claims (where the song was written, what it was inspired by) are now clearly separated, and they are each tagged as needing citations. I also deleted the sentence that was purely about the JFK assassination, because Wikipedia naturally already has a huge, well-written article on that subject, so I've linked to that. I've also put the remainder of the paragraph in a separate paragraph as it may be better put in a separate section (critical reaction, reception?) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.145.127.151 (talk) 11:32, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
