Can we now delete or at least modify the comment at the head of this article? Happy to discuss. :)

Notability

[edit]

I think the article is notable now though a lot of relevant and apt material needs moving from the Unfortunate Rake pages. So I deleted that comment.

Wikisource

[edit]

An alteration has been made to the ref for the lyrics. I can see there was a problem and am grateful for the help here but the suggested solution (with no discussion with me, which would have been helpful, maybe,), isn’t for me a real solution. I don’t understand it I am afraid. The lyrics don’t appear to be on Wikisource. You can find digitised versions on Oxford Uni Bidleian website which is part of a cooperative effort with other sources including the Roud index and the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library. I cannot see how wikisource would be useful. In fact I wasted a lot of time looking at it in vain and it seems you need an account which doesn’t seem helpful for a wiki ref. The refs used to explain that these lyrics are public domain which they are. They are over 100 years old and nobody knows who wrote them. So I propose to modify what Kate Mash 11:11, 27 December 2023 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kate Mash (talkcontribs)
