Clean-up tags
In February, BuddingJournalist placed three tags on this article: One that says that the article uses too many buzzwords, another that says it does not have the formal tone of an encyclopedia, and one that says that it may need clean-up to meet Wikipedia's quality standards.
I am not a big fan of clean-up tags. In my opinion they tend to present a barrier to the reader. The normal reaction is conclude that one shouldn't rely on this information. That is why Wikipedia guidelines advise those who wouid place them on articles to discuss reasons for their placement on the talk page, so others may respond to them and fix problems, if needed. There was no such discussion in this case, so I am removing two of them:
- Buzzwords: I don't see many buzzwords. Most of the contents are easily readable for someone with a basic understanding of English. The topic is management, so one would expect managerial terms. However, these are not what I would call "buzzwords."
- Inappropriate tone: The article mostly consists of paraphrases of the 14 Principles. This seems appropriate to me.
As to the Qualty tag, I will leave that one there for now. Sure the article couild be improved. However, I would encourage folks who don't think it is good enough to dive in and help improve it. Enough with the drive by tagging, already!! Sunray 22:52, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Article expanded and reformated, references added. "Quality" tag removed. Sunray 22:20, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
The link to the book "The Toyota Way" seems promotional, especially because the book's site is primarily to promote the services of a consulting firm. Kluskiewicz 12:37, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- I think you mean the link in the "External links" section, and I certainly agree that it is promotional. Sunray 15:37, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Removed tags
I've removed neutrality and clean-up tags that have been on the article since February 2010. Since there was no comment on the talk page, I could only guess at what the tag placer had in mind. I did some clean-up per MoS and so the clean-up tag no longer applies. With respect to neutrality: The article describes a Toyota management philosophy. It is sourced. That does not necessarily indicate a neutrality problem. Sunray (talk) 06:06, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
- For as much respect I have for the makers of the AE86, this "article" looks pretty much like a Toyota PR pamphlet, mostly toward the end, where its last phrase seems an advertising slogan. I'm pretty sure this qualify the article for, at least, a clean-up79.152.128.250 (talk) 00:00, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
