Updates?
[edit]This article hasn't been expanded in a while so I was wondering if any new information has surfaced on this show?--Paleface Jack (talk) 00:43, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
- no. Nothing occured. If there would have been anything on mayor outlets like deadline.com, Entertainment Weekly or Hollywood Reporter or something like that, I would have noticed and added it. Nothing thus far.--Robberey1705 (talk) 12:50, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
Air dates
[edit]Hello, Amazon Prime in the german-speaking region didn't have episode 3 until April 3. It was actually supposed to be released on April 2, but it didn't and on April 3, episode 4 and 5 were released aswell (without prior communication). I have seen it myself. The air dates that Amazon has written are wrong. Even though March 27 is the given date, it didn't happen until April 3. In this source it also states: Confusion existed when in Germany five episodes were already available, while in the USA only the third has aired. On April 3 I archived the Amazon page in case they would take down the episodes: here. I'm in serious doubt that even 1 country released episodes 3 and 4 on March 27. On April 3 I looked up Amazon websites of other countries and I couldn't see if they have The Terror. f.e. Spain didn't have th service until April 3. How do you know other countries did have episodes 3 and 4 since March 27? See also: de:Diskussion:The Terror (Fernsehserie) --H8149 (talk) 11:09, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
Episode summaries
[edit]I suggest that episode summaries not be added until the episodes air on AMC. Amazon has apparently shown all episodes, and, as a non-subscribing editor who watches AMC, I don't want to come here to edit this page only to see summaries for those not aired on the host network. There's no rush to be "first" to add summaries here. Either that, or I remove this series from my watchlist (and not edit it) until it ends. — Wyliepedia @ 23:21, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not really sure what the policy is for situations like this, maybe hide the summaries until they air on AMC? I can't speak for the other people who edit the page, but I wouldn't revert you if you did that. Esuka323 (talk) 23:53, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
- Information shouldn't be withheld from users. I know this is a null point now, but the principle still stands for future cases. If the information is available, from a reliable source, then it should be added to the page. Christopher-Moreno1 (talk) 22:46, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
Cast lists
[edit]Assuming AMC makes The Terror a yearly thing, what on earth do we do about the cast list? It's going to get reaaaaaaallly long if absolutely everyone is listed. Would it not make sense for someone to create a List of The Terror characters page and we keep just the main cast for each season on the main page? I don't really have the experience to create a page like that myself, but if someone feels like doing so at some point when season 2? starts It would help the page I think. Esuka (talk) 20:06, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- I suggest we do like Fargo and put the full cast in the season's page once it gets created.--TheVampire (talk) 09:01, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
- Trimmed Season 1 recurring to notably linked actors/characters. — Wyliepedia @ 11:22, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
- CAWylie's edit was reverted, but I agree that the list should be trimmed; it's way too long. Not every actor that is credited needs to be listed here, we are not IMDB. The recurring list should adhere to notability: actors wiki Wikipedia articles, characters that are in the majority of the season's episodes (not just 2 or 3), and are important to the storyline (not just characters frequently seen or have a line here or there). Per MOS:TVCAST,
"Remember to follow the notability guidelines when creating a cast list: not every fictional character ever created deserves to be listed."
And the sole purpose of creating season articles just to house an exhaustive cast list isn't really the way to go either. Drovethrughosts (talk) 18:20, 23 June 2019 (UTC)- I would agree if we were talking about a longer TV series with hundreds of recurring characters, but the majority of characters in that list have relevance to the story and a complete list for a limited series should not be a problem. There are actors who don't have an article whose characters are prominent throughout the series or play a key part in two or three episodes (like Lady Silence's father). The suggestion to create a new page for the season is also to accomodate the relevant information to that particular season and storyline as well as all the episodes' plots, which by the end of season two will cover most of the article.--TheVampire (talk) 13:53, 24 June 2019 (UTC)

@TheVampire, CAWylie, and Esuka: I see that season articles have been created but I still feel it's premature, and that the sole basis for these season articles is to house an exhaustive list of characters, which is inappropriate. Season articles should be created when the main article has become too large and that the season articles would contain content not found in the main article. As of now, each season article, The Terror (season 1) and The Terror: Infamy simply consist of content that was copy-and-pasted from the main article. There's no point in having the exact same content exist in two places, unless the content will get expanded in a meaningful way. The season article's each have an empty production section; the only content that could go there is what's in the main article, again, more duplicated content. There's nothing wrong with the way it was, as long as the cast list doesn't get too out-of-hand. Drovethrughosts (talk) 15:59, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
- Agree that the page split copy-paste, for the sake of having an exhaustive list of characters, was the improper way of going about it. It violates the TV Manual of Style, in more ways than one. This is not American Horror Story. — Wyliepedia @ 17:19, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
- The list of characters was not the only reason, although listing recurring characters is good practice for any TV season I can think of. These two seasons are very different and the main page was becoming very stuffed with season-centered information (episode summaries, ratings, production info, etc.). Even if this show doesn't have eight seasons like American Horror Story, the difference between the two "limited seasons" justifies the creation of single articles in my opinion, also because, unlike AHS, casts are completely different in this case.--TheVampire (talk) 12:26, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
Update: As we are nearing the end of season two, Infamy, it should noted that the season articles are now at the parent article. Future branching will require further discussion here. — Wyliepedia @ 09:59, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Japanese internment camp
[edit]'Japanese internment camp' is a confusing term to use without qualification. There were hundreds of what were also called 'Japanese internment camps' in South-East Asia, run by the Japanese, during WW2: see here. As the internment in the two cases is either 'of' Japanese or 'by' Japanese, it is important to qualify to avoid confusion. I chose not to add 'Japanese-Americans' as some Japanese nationals were also held in the US camps. 'US-run' seems a more accurate descriptor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.133.37.7 (talk) 13:33, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Seasons
[edit]Why are season 1 and 2 on the same page? They don't seem to be related at all. 86.6.239.158 (talk) 01:59, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
