Who

Who was the movie star guy at stewie's party and movie was he in?67.175.138.202 16:55, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

He is Devon. But is he real?67.175.138.202 01:45, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Quagmire

Was Quagmire getting angry and cussing while he golfed a reference to "Happy Gilmore?"

-JohnnyLurg

It didn't come of as Gilmore to me. It just seemed to reference the typical angry short tempered golfer. Those guys are very common both on armature and pro levels. Generalleoff 05:06, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Unlisted music

What is the name of the song played in the backround when Stewie drinks his tab?

Floater poem

Its fine to put it in the cultural references, but we don't need to write it out. Its unnecessary. User:Saget53 14:49, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Correction

This episode is actually from season 6, not 5 as mentioned previously before.

that would be pretty interesting considering season 6 hasnt aired yet, but this episode has. 67.184.160.211

The official DVD's I have must be wrong then. =P

well this page is for region 1, obviously you arent in that region if your DVDs say otherwise, as the fifth season just ended here 67.184.160.211

Goofs?

Excuse me, but how is Stewie calling Brian a person a goof? He is a dog, not a person has got to be the dumbest argument for this being a mistake.--Sotaru 03:55, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Actually, he is a dog that thinks like a man. He is a cartoon character, but CI is wrong about saying he is neither a person or a dog, he is an animated dog. And thinks like a man. I agree though, this goof is very dumb. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 17:32, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Cover of "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want"

The article lists the song used in the episode as the original from the movie, but it is not. The guitar and oboe can clearly be head in the episode playing a different version than the actual instrumental cover by The Dream Academy. Also, there are none of the ambience sounds heard in the original.

It's either a different instrumental cover or it was just a segment played by Family Guy's orchestra. Anyone have any idea of which it is? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Spairert (talkcontribs) 18:16, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Title Reference

Clearly "The Life Aquantic with Steve Zissou" is referenced, but according to imdb's biography on Wes Anderson (director of "The Life Aquantic with Steve Zissou"), he, being pretty pasty, actually got a tan on the set what lead to Anjelica Houston stating: "he had "suddenly" become "handsome".

Worth mentioning? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.8.204.212 (talk) 11:56, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Stuff from the commentary

  • All the swearing made by Quagmire at the golf-course was not heard on TV, but are on the DVD. MacFarlane
  • There is always a bit of trouble pitching a Herbert story to the network. Goodman
  • Originally, the voice for Kyle was going to be Sam Levine but was changed to the current because "it seemed a lot funnier when Peter was beating up a kid if he was younger and more defenceless." MacFarlane
  • The "Frenz Russia" voice was not performed by Alex Borstein, as when she tried it, it just sounded so much like Lois. MacFarlane
  • The scene of Stewie checking himself out in the mirror is a reference to Arthur Kitt telling President Johnson to get out of the .... Goodman
  • Broadcasting standards made the episode cut the gag of Stewie hearing people having sex above his room, the voice for the woman is by Alex Borstein. Goodman, MacFarlane
  • A "very funny" (Goodman) scene had been made when Chris is asking to borrow money which showed "I spent my last ten bucks on a ham costume, where a scene would be used showing it and he would say "it's just sitting their right now, but you know what the great thing is, its just three months until halloween and I am done." Goodman
  • The flashback of Peter's ancestor preparing to fight with a donkey was "a very strange gag" (MacFarlane) and was last minute. MacFarlane
  • Stewie sunbathing with his legs wide-a-part is a Teddy Rosevelt reference. Hentemann, Mark
  • Stewie is shown taking to Martin Landau, a reference to the person. The character was voiced by Jeff Bergman who had performed roles in other episodes, including "Chick Cancer." MacFarlane, Goodman
  • The scene of Stewie at a party with other tan-obsessed people is an omage from the Toney Lacey scene in Annie Hall. Hentemann
  • One of the voices of the people at the above party was performed by Mike Barker(MacFarlane.) Goodman comments "its nice to hear Mike Barker back on Family Guy" and he used to do a lot of voices.
  • The scene of Peter beating up the kid then going home and acting normal bu sitting on the couch was so funny , according to MacFarlane. MacFarlane
  • The joke of Peter saying "I'm going to prison, aren't I" when up the tree caused a litle bit of trouble for the show. Goodman
  • A gag had been made when Brian fell asleep and Stewie was in the booth which consisted of Brian watching Late Night with Bib Fortuna,(Goodman) but it didn't do so good when screening. MacFarlane
  • Originally when Stewie was being sprayed by Brian with cream and it looked like Semen from Brian's penis, the cream was originally meant to continue coming out when Brian was doing that, but it didn't seem to go ahead. Goodman. MacFarlane was amazed the standards allowed them to even let them do what they did. MacFarlane
  • The hand blade, electric rasor gag was added to the episode later. MacFarlane
  • Peter chasing Meg round the kitchen and farting was "amazingly animated." Julius, W
  • A deleted scene following directly on from the above showed Peter giving Chris his lunch money then, just as he is boarding the school bus, takes it from him, but it was never used. Goodman
  • Stewie and Brian visiting the art studio is a reference to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, even though they could not get the exact music. Wu, MacFarlane
  • The scene of somebody standing in the doorway greeting people but actually saying "go fuck yourself" was "way to unnaceptable" for TV, MacFarlane states and thus censored.
  • Stewie listing in a funny voice, the poem he thinks is a Tuesdays With Maury reference. GOodman
  • Alec Sulkin did the scene of putting a candy bar in your mouth then putting a hoody over you then making it look like an Anus. It is described by Goodman to be "scary, it was horiffic, we just could not stop laughing." Goodman
  • The scene of Chris pushing his dad away from punching Randy was very hard to do, as its always hard to do animation in slow motion. MacFarlane, Wu
  • The original ending to the episode had been matching that of the movie The Revenge of the Nerds (Goodman). MacFarlane liked the ending and wished it had been used, "but it never really clicked." MacFarlane
