Differences
[edit]The differences from the book says both of these, which is right:
In the book, Despereaux is part of a litter. His siblings all die at birth. This sad detail is omitted from the film.
In the book, Despereaux had many mice brothers and sisters including a sister named "Merlot". In the film, there is only Despereaux and Furlough. --Erroneuz1 (talk) 06:22, 12 April 2009 (UTC) In the book, Botticelli is shown as an ordinary rat, in the film, he is shown as the leader of the rats. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.157.148.14 (talk) 15:01, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
In the book, Botticelli returns to the darkness without dying (he was disgusted by the rescue of Pea), but in the movie, Ruscuro charges at him, thus forcing him into the cat cage for a painful death. --65.93.41.167 (talk) 19:46, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Improving the article
[edit]Someone possibly could put on a link to the wikipedia page for the book, for any reference that is not in the film's article. (Bricsontos) July 15, 2009
- The opening sentence has a link to it under "same name". BOVINEBOY2008 12:43, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
I've deleted a sentence about Production which stated that Chomet stole budget from Despereraux to fund his own film The Illusionist and that was why he was fired: the sentence was referenced but the reference made no mention of money, never mind a financial scandal. It was all about authorship. ~freaky dragonlady, 12 August, 2010
Anonymous web comments as a "source"?
[edit]The bits about Chomet using funds allocated for Despereaux on L'Illusioniste and hs replacements directing by voicemail have as their source unsubstantiated comments in the talkback section of a page hosting the trailer. This is just awful, the exact kind of shaky sourcing that people mock Wikipedia for using. If legitimate sources can't be found, these should be deleted from the entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.194.146.143 (talk) 01:57, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
Universal Animation Studios
[edit]Did this studio have any involvement in the film? I’m not so sure it did. Brian K. Tyler (talk) 06:34, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
