Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because they have received accolades from publications such as USA Today and the Boston Herald; includes three independently notable musicians; have toured domestically and internationally; and their song "What I'm Looking For" has been featured in a nationally broadcasted Subaru ad. Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... the band has released two albums and are currently touring world-wide. The lead singer, Greg Naughton, is an actor with several high-profile credits who is the son of Tony Award winner James Naughton and husband of five-time Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara. Declined speedy
[edit]@Qxukhgiels: I've declined the speedy since there is an assertion of notability via one of the band's songs being used in a commercial. It's a rather weak assertion of notability and it wouldn't be enough to keep the article (assuming that this is their only real claim to fame), but it's enough to squeak by speedy guidelines. AfD looks like it'd be the only real option here. On a side note, I do need to note to the contesting people that the band cannot inherit notability by way of famous relatives, actions that the members have done that do not pertain to the band itself (ie, acting credentials), or similar. Notability can only be gained through coverage in independent and reliable sources per WP:RS. Just existing as a band and releasing CDs isn't enough to pass notability guidelines- you have to show coverage in reliable sources. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 11:55, 17 January 2015 (UTC)
