Early coverage
Should notability be questioned, please consider the following sources:
Feel free to post more! Thanks. --Another Believer (Talk) 22:01, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure about the article that mentions the song; not sure if it's a reliable source. Zap2it is pretty reliable for Glee articles and have been used in all episodes and articles (I think) that have gotten to GA, so it's able to be used. About the tonsillitis thing, so many sources are reporting on it but I'm not sure what we can say in more than one sentence haha. Yves (talk) 06:38, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. I completely agree--the illness is only deserving of one sentence or so, but I posted multiple sources just for different options (and b/c I wasn't sure all were reliable) and in case they contained different information. --Another Believer (Talk) 17:14, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
DYK?
Should the article expand at a slow and steady rate, it may be difficult to add a DYK fact to the Main Page via 5x expansion. If you have suggestions for a DYK hook via article creation, feel free to display here or nominate on the DYK talk page. Thanks! --Another Believer (Talk) 00:10, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- Wow! 2,500 article views on Day 2. Getting a DYK hook on the Main Page would also increase traffic to the article, but there is nothing particularly interesting or unique yet... --Another Believer (Talk) 00:41, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- Wow, that is high! I think the part about it potentially being the most expensive post-Super Bowl episode in history is really interesting, but after searching around I can't find where that suggestion originated. If it came from someone connected to the show, I think it's DYK worthy. (I'm not saying the sourcing for it atm isn't valid, just that as the focus of the MTV article is about something that turned out to be untrue, knowing the origins of the expense info might be best if it's to end up on the main page.) Frickative 00:56, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not sure where the most expensive thing came from, either. I know it's supposed to be the most expensive Glee episode, and the same source says one of the most expensive in television history. Yves (talk) 01:01, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

California Gurls
Currently, the article claims that the Cheerios are performing Katy Perry's song "California Gurls". I do not see this confirmed in the source immediately following the claim. Do we have a reliable source supporting this claim? --Another Believer (Talk) 16:59, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- Removed Added by IP and guess we missed it :) CTJF83 chat 17:16, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- No worries! We've been doing so many reverts--it was inevitable we would miss some! I just did not want to remove sourced information. Keep up the great work keeping the article tidy and accurate. --Another Believer (Talk) 21:57, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
Well I'm pretty sure they are doing it. I saw pictures of Cheerios with blue hair and the cupcake boobs on the Glee Wiki site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.123.49.144 (talk) 02:29, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- Glee wiki is highly unreliable, so please provide a reliable source before adding. CTJF83 chat 02:31, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

- Where do infobox images usually come from? Are there any other images that could added to the article? --Another Believer (Talk) 22:17, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Gwyneth Paltrow?
She hasn't filmed anything for this episode. I really don't think she's in it. 124.183.98.175 (talk) 03:41, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, there really hasn't been any further evidence of her appearance here. Unless they are trying to intentionally keep it under wraps, I'm inclined to not trust the earlier source. Other sources only talk about her character's return for two eisodes later in the season. I know we worry more about verifiability than truth, but it really seems there isn't much to support this one. --Siradia (talk) 16:27, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
Re-directs
Throughout its history this article has been titled "Glee Super Bowl episode", "Super Bowl Episode", "Thriller (Glee)" and now "The Sue Sylvester Bowl Shuffle". Nothing wrong with that, but is there anything that needs to be done to clean up the history of backlinks? I assume all links to any of the above titles now direct to the current title, but I didn't know if any additional clean up was required. --Another Believer (Talk) 17:12, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- And yet another title change! I believe all the cleaning up was done. It's just fixing the links so they're not quintuple redirects, right? Yves (talk) 05:31, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Ratings
The article currently has viewer numbers. It is important to point out that this was the most-watched episode of Glee, but (for historical context and neutral point of view) equally important to note that post-Super Bowl program viewership was down ~30% from last year. --Another Believer (Talk) 03:01, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- Isn't that more relevant to the Super Bowl, though, or rather the List of Super Bowl lead-out programs article? Other than being the episode to follow the game, there is no other connection between "The Sue Sylvester Shuffle" and the Undercover Boss episode. I would see why we would note differences in ratings or viewership between Glee episodes, but this isn't about Super Bowl lead-out programmes, but a specific one in 2011. Just some initial thoughts... Yves (talk) 05:35, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Thanks for the response. My thinking was that, because this episode was a Super Bowl lead-out program, it might be relevant to compare it to other lead-out programs for context. I don't feel too strongly about its inclusion--just thought I would bring it here for discussion. --Another Believer (Talk) 16:13, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm, I'm not totally sure either way, but I think it might be worth briefly noting that the episode fit the general trend of declining lead-out retention? Not necessarily just contrasting it to last year's Undercover Boss, but placing it in a wider context. Then readers can gauge its performance both as an episode of Glee, and as a Super Bowl lead-out show. Frickative 08:15, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Perfect. --Another Believer (Talk) 15:21, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

What's left?
So, what's left as far as article expansion goes? I assume we are still waiting for song chart stats and worldwide ratings to come in? Regular Glee contributors, just ask for help if you need assistance conducting research for regular article sections. Also, is there a particular source recommended for fair use images (at least one for the infobox)? --Another Believer (Talk) 22:14, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- There are a few more reviews to incorporate, but not many - I'll either try and get it done or drop the links off later. Canadian ratings are out, and I can find Australian overnights but not the final weekly ranking yet. Debut chart positions are available for the US and Canada. There's actually more available than I thought, so I'll try and do some work on the article later on. The Fox Flash publicity website has episodic stills with attribution to the relevant photographers, and Kristin dos Santos' flickr stream has them all in large size. GA review
I am glad to see the article is up for GA status, but I was really hoping Frick would get credit for the nomination... --Another Believer (Talk) 17:30, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
- It's cool - I was literally only a few minutes away from nominating it anyway, but as long as the review goes okay, that's the main thing :) Frickative 23:32, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

- Hello, I will be reviewing this article. Please note that this is my first GA review, and I think I've only seen one Glee episode. I may ask for a second opinion or consult a mentor.
Pretty good article; just a few small things!
- It is reasonably well written.
- I would link "extras" (as in "over 500 extras") to extra (actor). (This is done in the Production section, but not the lead).
- To avoide confusion in the lead, I would change the sentence in the third paragraph to "The episode received a mixed response..." because it is similar to the sentence in the 2nd paragraph about the performances.
- In the first paragraph of the plot section, you may wish to mention that Sue Sylvester is the coach of the cheerleading squad. I'm also a bit confused as to why she would want to fire a cheerleader to make her love football more.
- Production section: the filming of "Thriller" was delayed because of the flu, but was this before or after the tonsillitis outbreak?
- Give Couric's first name to make it clearer.
- Has Strado appeared in any episode after, like dos Santos hinted?
- Critical response section: quote VanDerWerff's "boring"
- As this is an American TV show, use the American English variant "summarize" instead of "summarise" in the Ken Tucker's EW review (this also being printed in America).
- "also mocked Lohan's daughter Lindsay." Comma after "daughter".
- "Canning called Couric's cameo..." Start this sentence with "However" or another transition to make it more understandable.
- Performances section: use a {{see also}} template to link List of songs in Glee (season 2) as related.
- Corrected all the minor mistakes. It should be good now. :) - DAP388 22:07, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- I see. I'll be passing this. Glimmer721 talk 00:36, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
