Article Name
[edit]A suggestion of whether this article should have it's name changed to The Story of Saiunkoku or Story of Saiunkoku? 24.84.59.132 06:56, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the second series is still entitled Saiunkoku Monogatari, so I think the main article name should stay the way it is for now. At least, just until it's over, and when the entire series (First and Second Series) is officially titled as The Story of Saiunkoku (in case the second series is never translated into English; in which case, it would be best to keep the name as is). For now, I've created links for The Story of Saiunkoku and Story of Saiunkoku, which both redirects here. DarkAngel007 07:28, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- I was planning to rename the article when the US release has actually shipped. Not that I expect the announced title to change. P.S.: It's normal practice to add new sections to the bottom of a talk page. — Meersan 16:29, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- I Think you should add a redirect page of the name 'Color Cloud Palace' or 'CoulourCloud Palace' (in the animax synopsis page) to this article. I have sufficient evidence that Animax-Asia is using the titleCoulorCloud Palace in their program listing. And across the web, the name 'Color Cloud Palace' is always associated with the story of Saiunkoku. Triadwarfare (talk) 17:01, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Names
[edit]Suggest replacing "Shurei Ko" with "Shurei Hong," since it is the official US translation, as much as it's (legitimately?) despised by the fans.
- "Hong" is the chinese pronunciation of the kanji 紅 "Kou". They have probably chosen this because in Japanese the kanji "red" and "yellow" are both pronounced "Kou" and in English it's impossible to distinguish the two families' names then. I think it's a good idea, but maybe they should have changed the yellow clan's name instead of the main character's one ^^;; Minikui 23:42, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
The Haku clan isn't the same as the Hyou clan, which has the magic powers. The other details under the Haku clan are of the Hyou clan, which isn't really a noble family, but has close ties to the Shi clan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.87.164.136 (talk) 05:34, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Plot
[edit]The plot summary is inaccurate. Need to edit for accuracy. --202.176.196.196 (talk) 04:34, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Cast?
[edit]Should there be a cast section here? Or just leave it on the characters page? Jutari 08:29, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- I think that's a good idea. It could go here on the main page. — Meersan 23:18, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- If there's only one VA per character, as seems to be the case, it's better to leave them integrated into the character page. --Darkbane talk 02:36, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
I have just finished watch the first season(all 39 episodes), wrote down the names of both Japanese and English Voice Casts. I Was wondering if Wikipedia would like me to put that list up. I will say this. This had the largest cast That I have ever seen for an anime. I hope if they do the second season in English, If they can get all of the original cast for it! The Japanese will remain the same and they added a few new characters. Oh, I noticed that the character names under the characters and the anime are spelled differently, the anime names had no "u" in the spelling. That is why I was asking if Wikipedia would like a seperate list? Please e-mail to let me know, I don't want to add the list if no one wants. Kingduran (talk) 05:31, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
Classification, if anything, should be shoujo
[edit]The magazine that Saiunkoku Monogatari runs in is not aimed at adult women, and it is not ladies' comics/josei. For more information see the Japanese Kadokawa Beans article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Charmian33 (talk • contribs) 11 July 2007

episode list
[edit]can someome update the season 2 episode list? 76.66.195.159 (talk) 14:38, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Character Names
[edit]As per WP:MOS-AM all articles about this series should use the official English names for characters. As such, all pages have been updated to use the official names, including using Shurei Hong, not Shurei Ko, and removing most macrons as they are not included in the official names. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 18:30, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

musicography/discography
[edit]A list of CDs should be added to this article. 76.66.195.159 (talk) 09:03, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

List of light novels need improvement
[edit]I did the menial part of the work. So now someone will be very nice to add the japanese titles of each volumes + kanji version of those title. Thanks very much --KrebMarkt 20:17, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- That has been undone as it was not the appropriate format for light novels at all, nor are fan books listed in such a manner. They are noted with a reference without excessive details. Nor should references ever be put in the header. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 23:48, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- I give up. I won't spend more time in this article as you also delete reliable information concerning the vol 13 & 14 of the main volumes and vol 3 of the side story. In addition i added the release dates of various book. I'm used to Wikipedia ungratefulness so i have no qualms with you. Do as you wish that your boat.--KrebMarkt 06:22, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- That it has 14 volumes was not removed, nor that it has three volumes of side stories. Yes, you added some dates, in the wrong format and without any sources. As such, its been removed until it can be added in the proper format and with good sources. See the note at the bottom of the page that appears whenever you edit: "f you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed for profit by others, do not submit it. " that does include your edits being reverted for not being done well. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 06:27, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- So you want one link for every books on Kadokawa catalog ?
- I can be done but i just hope that people can withstand that explosion of the number of references.--KrebMarkt 06:39, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- By the way don't forget the second fan book see here : http://www.kadokawa.co.jp/comic/bk_detail.php?pcd=200801000636, ISBN 978-4-04-854183-1 and release date : 2008-06-10. --KrebMarkt 06:44, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, of course. The source given did not actually list the dates for each book, only that the books existed. The release date is what needs referencing. If you check any good quality chapter list, you'll see that every date is referenced, often with individual references. An "explosion of the number of references" for this article would be a very good thing. I have to drive to the airport but later today I'll fix up the list to use the proper format. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 09:20, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

original Japanese names: long vowels, Kō/Hong, Ri/Li
[edit]Although Geneon/Funimation stripped out the long vowel markers in their R1 version, those remain correct for the original Japanese pronunciations (I assume that's the point of appending the italicized versions to the kanji); likewise, "Kō" is still the official reading in Japan for the G1 "Hong" character/province names. WRT "Ri", I realize that a randomly Googled fan scan is not an ideal reference, but http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/248715 appears to support that as the official Japanese transliteration rather than "Li" (Amazon.co.jp doesn't seem to have internal samples of the artbook available, although I can look from some from smaller vendors if those might still be considered semi-reliable). Wombat1138 (talk) 22:13, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- Correct for the original Japanese names and thanks for fiding those. Got a bit happy on my search release. (though please don't link to fanscanslations, per WP:COPYRIGHT. :) ). There are some folks in the anime/manga problem who can check the romaji versions for accuracy. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 00:46, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- The minitokyo image appears to be a straightforward unaltered scan, but I take your meaning :) Meanwhile, in the first paragraph of the "Plot" section, should "Shūrei Kō" remain unchanged? The overall nomenclature in this article is pretty jumbled-- the "Provinces and ruling clans" section uses the alternate transliteration "Kou" with the "Hong" note appended afterward, and then the "Characters" section uses the same "Shurei Hong" as the more detailed character list article, which in turn seems to reuse much of the same text from here in starting out each profile. Wombat1138 (talk) 01:11, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
- Doh, yes, the plot should use Shurei Hong. Other than in the character section giving the English/Japanese names, all of the articles should use the English names. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 01:35, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
split off media
[edit]I propose that the media section be split off into a separate list article. 76.66.198.171 (talk) 06:55, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- Rv; opposed and tag removed. We do not split entire media sections into separate articles, period. Eventually the light novels should be split into their own article, but it isn't a critical need at the moment at all. The article does not have an issue with size nor is there any valid reason to do any more splitting. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 07:02, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- We do have lists of media Collectionian; however, the article lacks information and structure, including an impact/reception section.陣内Jinnai 03:59, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- We split of specific media, chapters and episodes, not the entire media into one list (or at least they shouldn't, such lists have regularly been remerged with more specific splits made as needed). -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 04:22, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- If none of them can stand on their own, but as a whole they are relatively lengthy we, and other wikiprojects, have split them. However, as stated, right now the article doesn't need to be split.陣内Jinnai 04:25, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
