Roman Spinner, you have not addressed the incoming links and I've edited your mistaken red links. Boleyn (talk) 10:49, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

1) Boleyn, my appreciation for your kind reminder regarding the incoming links and those do, indeed, need to be addressed. It should be noted that almost all of the links belong to the Italian film which, on August 18, 2014, was moved from The Star Maker to The Star Maker (1995 film). Initially, the links continued to point correctly because the newly-created redirect, The Star Maker, still redirected to The Star Maker (1995 film). However, 18 hours after the move, this redirect was re-pointed to the 1937 philosophical science fiction novel Star Maker. For the next year-and-a-half [until my creation of the disambiguation page today] all of the links [there are at least 25, if not more] continued to point to the novel, although not a single one referred to it.
2) Three or four of the links are not intended for the 1995 Italian film and belong, instead, to one or another of the other three films that also bear the title The Star Maker. After creating the dab page, I immediately corrected one of the links, which depicted the Italian film's poster, but other matters prevented me from continuing. A grace period of 24 hours should be granted after such actions [it this case, it was not even a move] to allow time for link repair. As for the red links, "mistaken" appears to be an overstatement since the two formerly redlinked films have a potential of becoming subjects of their own articles and you, yourself, have converted unlinked entries into redlinks within other dab pages. In any event, I will complete the links over the next 24 hours. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 19:22, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's irrelevant if the red links have the potential to become articles - dabs don't have redlinks unless they have incoming links. It would be really, really nice if you kept to the guidelines. After a long history of correcting your incoming links, which have often been left for more than 24 hours, I felt a polite reminder was appropriate. Boleyn (talk) 19:26, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

For the benefit of Wikipedians who may be reading this exchange at some future time and would like direct access to confirm the section of MOS relevant to redlinks within dab pages, it is at MOS:DABRED. As for keeping to the guidelines, I do agree that in a complex and wide-ranging project such as Wikipedia, adherence to the rulebook, with proper nod to WP:Ignore all rules, is the advisable attitude. I regret whatever past struggles you may have had with my incoming links and always appreciate the politeness of your reminders. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 03:26, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
