DYK nomination

So right now reference 1 is cited for most of the information in the article. Reference 1 is the scanned text of the novel, with catalogue information and copyright status added by the scanner. Nothing more. Reference 1 does not support this article saying that Landis "... remonstrated in publications about self-abuse, free love and doctors," nor does it describe the novel as "turgid." It does assert that Landis is a medical doctor, but it does not indicate "there is no evidence that he ever received this academic degree." Nor is it a plausible source for the assertion that "there is no record of it [the theatrical version] having been performed."

I think this is a probably a great article, but I have a feeling there must be unlisted sources. Can we have them please? 75.71.13.252 (talk) 02:22, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Plot and themes

Combining a section on plot with a section on themes is highly nonstandard for articles on literature. It is potentially problematic because plot sections are intended to be a straightforward, unbiased summary, whereas a theme or analysis section, inevitably, requires someone's perspective or study. I highly, highly recommend these two sections be split, as they once were. --Midnightdreary (talk) 18:02, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
