Black Spot connection?

Has any reliable source reported on the possible connection between this story and "The Curse of the Black Spot", airing next month? There has been fan speculation that the character of Avery in that story (played by Hugh Bonneville) may be the Avery whose gold is the MacGuffin in this story, but has it reached professional media such as DWM or SFX yet, or any of the tabloids? —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 03:27, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, apparently the latest Doctor Who Magazine (which I won't see for a month) describes The Curse of the Black Spot as "a prequel, of sorts, to The Smugglers".
