[edit]I think that there should definitely be an image here. The current one is nominated for deletion because it is unsourced. Maybe someone could get Smiley himself or one of his co-stars to upload a licensed picture of the cast to the site. (Might even make for good radio). David 17:17, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- A licensed picture? Probably a bad idea. Unless it was under a Capital-F Free license, it could run afould of the replaceable-fair-use brigade, get tagged for deletion, and then we'll have a radio host talking about how Wikipedia is crazy. If they have a picture they want to release under a compatible license however, that would be great. —dgiestc 22:24, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- What are you saying? Wikipedia is crazy! :-P Still, you're probably right. Either way, it looks rather bland without a photo there... David 15:29, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
What they decided to NOT renew the contract?? Are you kidding me!! This is the BEST morning show in the Nap-Town!!
Co-host
[edit]What is the co-host's real name? It's listed alternatively as Kari Jole and Kari Juhll. This should be standardized. 63.250.85.82 17:22, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm 99% certain it's spelled Kari Johll 207.250.155.126 (talk) 15:12, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

206.246.136.158 14:27, 22 February 2007 (UTC) I can't believe they want to delete this page! With as many listeners Dave Smiley brings in each morning, we should be able to prevent this from happening. Afterall, we are trying to make the Smiley Morning Show bigger and better than Bob and Tom -- I thin that's Dave's ultimate goal in life ........ 206.246.136.158 14:27, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
```` I'm not sure why the reason of "non-notable radio show" is given, Smiley is the bigeest morning radio show in the indianapolis region. ````
I have been listening to Smiley for about 3 years now and as long as his show is on the air I will never switch. I get a vast amount of knowledge from the show and it always makes my morning better. To say this show is "non-notable" is a disgrace. 2/22/07 ....
WZPL's signal carries just as far as WFBQ, the station that is home to the Bob and Tom show. So to say it's non-notable doesn't make sense. Both shows are available to roughly the same amount of people locally. It just boils down to your taste in music. WFBQ is primarily an oldies station that plays classic rock in between the comedy bits and WZPL plays Top 40 Pop. Some radio big wig out there must have a demographic breakdown of the percentages of people who prefer certain genres of music. I'd be surprised if classic rock beats top 40.
```` The Smiley Morning Show was named Best Hot AC Morning Show in the country for 2006 by industry trade publication FMQB.
This article reads unlike an encyclopedia article.
[edit]There are quite a few lines in this article that, I feel, just shouldn't be. Unless there are any objections, I'd like to fix them:
Quote: The Smiley Morning Show is an award-winning radio program... It may well have won awards, but there is no citation nor description of what awards they may be. Additionally, to phrase the sentence as it is lends it more of an advertising feel than an historic feel. Likewise for the phrase "...by 2006 and 2007 NUVO magazine "Best Radio Personality"[1] Dave Smiley...". Maybe these two statements should be left to the "Awards" section?
Quote: "...Paul Poteet (of WRTV 6 fame)" "fame" should be changed to something more descriptive. What did he do there? Additionally, this sentence has no end-punctuation.
Quote: "...including many comedians, A-list celebrities, and local personalities." The "A-list" bit sounds, again, like an advertisment.
The "Daily Segments" & "Weekly Segments/Themes" sections should be removed entirely, IMHO, or if not deleted, merged with the "Games, Contests, and Listener Participation" section, along with "Listener Events".
Quote, of Smiley: "Harbors a secret desire to one-up Ryan Seacrest of American Idol fame, as well as surpassing local radio super-stars Bob & Tom." This statement especially sounds like (with no proof) it was written by a member of the Smiley Morning Show itself -- maybe even Smiley himself. And there are multiple other quotes that give the same feeling: "He is a man women want and men want to be like. He can cut glass with a steely gaze.", and, to a lesser extent, the entire Mindy Winkler Hate-List.
The "Friends of the Show" section should be deleted. Or, lacking that, renamed to something more professional, such as "Frequent Guests".
The "FreeloaderZ Program" section should be removed, also. It is not a Smiley program, but a z99.5 program. Thus it should be moved to the z99.5 wiki page.

Mindy is Gone
[edit]Mindy Winkler isn't even on the program anymore and informaion about her, B-Moore and Weedman need to be either deleted or moved to a new section that highlights the fact that they are no longer there. Can someone please do something about this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.15.30.125 (talk) 22:09, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
