The result of the move request was: move. Yeah, that disambiguation page is sad. -- tariqabjotu 18:51, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
The Skaters (poem) → The Skaters – Move to primary topic, replacing unnecessary dab page. --Relisted. -- tariqabjotu 04:43, 19 July 2013 (UTC) PamD 15:00, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose Parenthetical disambiguation is necessary given the usage of the word "skaters" in other contexts. This article (about Ashbery's poem) is not the primary use of the word "skaters" and should not be given primacy over other usages (per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC). Usage of The Skaters (poem) is not inconsistent with other articles on specific poems using common words within their titles. Articles on a poem that do not use the parenthetical are often uniquely named (i.e. The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock vs. Trees (poem). Per WP:NAMINGCRITERIA, this name is precise, natural, recognizable, concise, and consistent.--ColonelHenry (talk) 19:40, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
- Weak support I'd agree with ColonelHenry if we were talking about Skaters (poem) or The Skater (poem). It's standard practice to redirect The Foo or Foos to a dab on Foo. But the plural form and definite article mean "The Skaters" is an unlikely search term for "Skater," which is a dab anyhow. The hatnote already at this article will be sufficient to deal with confusion. --BDD (talk) 17:00, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
- Neutral, or Weak oppose - is removing (poem) really helping anyone here? there are an uncomfortable number of references to "The Skaters" meaning the Waldteufel waltz, 85% of which don't have the French name attached. If moved The Skaters (disambiguation) only gives Les Patineurs (waltz) and Les Patineurs (ballet) but either the dab or "The Skaters" waltz will need to be hatnoted if moved. - Support. The combination of "The" and the plural appropriately distinguish this article from other options. We can leave a hat note to disambiguation at the top.--Cúchullain t/c 15:25, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
