Song depicts life in 1860s or 1890s?
[edit]Opening line of the article says, ""The Sidewalks of New York" is a popular song about life in New York City during the 1890s", but in the "history" section, the article says, "The words of the song tell the story of [James] Blake's childhood, including the friends with whom he played as a child..." Blake was born in 1862 and therefore if the song tells the story of Blake's childhood, the song must be about life in the 1860s, perhaps early 1870s, but not the 1890s, no? Likewise, perhaps this is a long winded way of asking for a cite as to the 1890s reference in the beginning of the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bundas (talk • contribs) 02:55, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
