Removed Arnie "racist"
[edit]I removed an unsited comment that Arnie's on-air personality is racists. As far as I can tell the only reason to believe he's racist is because he's from Texas. :) I've never heard him say anything racist on the show. Unless someone can provide a reference, lets avoid applying these types of labels without consideration. --RobertGary1 (talk) 17:31, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
- I have restored this comment but with a little note. He has admitid to being a racist on the air many times. – Elliott(Talk|Cont) 01:41, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I can't let that stand. If you are going to state that a living person admits to being a racist you must have a source to reference. Doing otherwise is a violation of Wikipedia's living person WP:V policy. Feel free to add it back in if you have a citable reference.--RobertGary1 (talk) 21:23, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
The RAD Article
[edit]Page moved for grammar issues in the title. (Lack of commas). The Page needs a real good combing over, since there's a lot of this page that I feel can be removed without compromising the integrity of the article. Instant.dave 23:46, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. There is a ridiculous amount of non-encyclopedic material in this article. There's no need to list every gag and schtick in detail. ... discospinster talk 23:49, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- They don't do schticks jerk they do segments :) Predator47 02:54, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've just removed a great deal of information that does not need to be there. It's one thing to make mention of the notable segments on the show (which will be left to fans to decide) but the article as it stood was more suitable for the show's web page than for Wikipedia. ... discospinster talk 00:06, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm taking out the info on where Arnie lives. It's unnecessary and bordering on an invasion of privacy. Do we really need instructions on how to get to someone's house on Wikipedia? Predator47 (talk) 04:54, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
That is an ironic comment, given your usernameRain City Blues (talk) 02:03, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
Support Rob Arnie and Dawn
[edit]I removed this section. Whatever you may think about the controversy over the hosts' recent remarks or the reaction of many of the station's advertisers, Wikipedia is not a political action forum. There are plenty of appropriate areas on the internet for that. -Tmcmistress (talk) If it isn't why are u using it to take on RAD —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mgerzen (talk • contribs) 22:44, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
External link
[edit]Mgerzen is being persistent and I don't want to get drawn into an edit war but is this an appropriate external link? Opinions? Mr_pand [talk | contributions] 23:23, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- For the moment, that link, by its self would be inappropriate on the page. Now, if we were to expand the controversy section to include published opinions from both sides then that link might be able to hide in there.– Elliott(Talk|Cont) 01:09, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure why links from either 'side' should be included. A news article describing the controversy and / or the advertisers who have pulled their support for the show and the station would be sufficient. Tmcmistress (talk) 07:10, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
Blocked from editing?
[edit]I was trying to remove the 'In support of' link, but the system will not let me edit this page. Why?
- No idea. Both that and the 'Entercom' link should be removed, the first for obvious reasons, the second because it has only the most tenuous link to the subject of this page. Tmcmistress (talk) 07:13, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- The page has been protected for 24 hours, because of a "content dispute" between me and Mgerzen which was resolved before the protection was put in place. Mr_pand [talk | contributions] 08:30, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Ah. That makes sense, then. Tmcmistress (talk) 16:24, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well, when the block is lifted, get rid of that link. It's very POV Rain City Blues (talk) 23:18, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Tmcmistress seems to be a POV Nazi and only wants links that support Tmcmistress's POV. lets have some balance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.30.167.40 (talk) 04:51, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- In the interests of full disclosure, I am a transgendered woman; and also, for reasons that should be obvious, I think what they said on air is abhorrent. It's what drew me to this article in the first place. However, that has nothing to do with the content I removed. Had there been a "F**k Rob, Arnie, and Dawn" section, I would've deleted that as well. Engaging in reductio ad Hitlerum does not help your argument, either. Tmcmistress (talk) 18:20, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- all links related to RAD are valid. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.30.167.40 (talk) 04:53, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Not all links related to RAD are 'valid'– Elliott(Talk|Cont) 05:57, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Removed the links, but i added a link to entercoms home page.– Elliott(Talk|Cont) 06:00, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
New development.
[edit]I just heard about the whole mess from a friend who listens to the show so I'll let you guys handle it when the block lifts instead of me: apparently they just emailed a statement (and also put on their website, http://robarnieanddawn.com/) to all the listeners who contacted them over the last couple weeks saying that there's going to be a show this Thursday to talk about it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LafinJack (talk • contribs) 00:05, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Altho the fact that this has appeared on their website is inportant it is not 'encyclopedic', a summary of what they say and/do on thursday will be added. – Elliott(Talk|Cont) 05:54, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, you put it much better than I did. - LafinJack (talk) 21:39, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Mgerzen, Please stop posting that link. It has already been posted on this talk page. – Elliott(Talk|Cont) 14:45, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Arnie's "hiatus"
[edit]The paragraph that keeps getting added about Arnie's reasons for leaving the show is an example of unsourced negative biographical content. Unless there is a reliable source added (preferably an outside source) then it cannot be kept in the article. ... discospinster talk 16:15, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
Rob, Arnie, and Dawn's Birthdays and places of Birth are all unsourced/referenced.
[edit]I could not find any reliable information on the Internet nor Wikipedia to source the information to. I also do not know the rules on Wikipedia well enough to remove or edit the information myself. Should the information be removed? Or is posting the lack of sources here good enough for now? Mrwhite22 (talk) 17:17, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
No sourcing on Arnie's reason for leaving...
[edit]There is a whole lotta hearsay in the latest edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.92.179.164 (talk) 21:15, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
