Editing

[edit]

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep in mind that the plot summaries for these episodes do not need extremely intricate details of the entire episode. Please do not blindly revert the plot page, if you have an issue with something let's talk about it here first. Wtbe7560 (talk) 21:53, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How do you spell Merry's last name? It seems to have been changed a lot. Also, is Akhaten a planet or a sun? The only thing I'd say about the plot summary is that it's quite choppy, with most of the sentence following the same structure and with a sense of "Then this happened. And then this." Glimmer721 talk 01:25, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The only official source which I can find (and also apparently the editor who changed the spelling) is BBC iPlayer. This isn't obviously the best way to verify something, especially if you can't actually get it and I'm assuming you can't but it'll have to do. I've just checked myself and indeed at 13:48, when Merry introduces herself to Clara, switching the closed captions on reveals the BBC Subtitling department spell it Gelelh and why not? The silent h may be a upper-class cultural thing on Akhaten, oh look another silent h! Speaking of which, it's definitely not a sun. The Doctor confuses things by talking about an alien sun before Clara opens her eyes, but if you look closely, there's an out-of-shot bright light reflecting off one side of Akhaten. I agree that the plot needs more work. ~~ Peteb16 (talk) 02:03, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The actual page as a j in her name. Glimmer721 talk 02:04, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, that's my own typo. I meant Gejelh. ~~ Peteb16 (talk) 02:12, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
BBC America's website has it as Galel, not Gejelh - the only reference to her last name on any BBC-operated website, and this is also the spelling used on the iTunes release. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.102.214.37 (talk) 16:33, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
BBC iPlayer is a BBC-operated website. The source of the spelling of subtitle information is most likely to be from the script, so this is as official as you can get. A reviewer working for BBC America is more likely to guess the spelling and get it wrong. Also there are many other websites which are using the Merry Gejelh spelling. If you put Merry Gelel into Google, you get no relevant results, so WP:COMMONNAME would probably apply in this case. ~~ Peteb16 (talk) 23:06, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It would help if you searched for the right thing, "Merry Galel", not "Merry Gelel". 192.102.214.37 (talk) 08:57, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I will review this article. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 01:06, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comments:

  • The infobox caption doesn't need to be in capitals like that, and it doesn't need to end with a period
  • Consider redlinks in the guest stars list
  • "which Moffat really liked." I think "really liked" is a bit too colloquial; try changing it
  • "The episode also received an Appreciation Index of 84." You should specify that this is out of 100
  • Ref #25 is not IGN

I think this is close to GA status; will put it on hold. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 01:35, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Did everything except red links; not sure how notable the cast are to later generate their own article. This may be the one to need it the most, but not sure about the others. Glimmer721 talk 02:50, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
