Black Book?
[edit]Which one? "Talat Paşa'nın Evrak-ı Metrukesi" may sound difficult but does not give us the right to invent a book name. The most we can do is use the translation of its name into English, which is "Talat Pasha's Abandoned Documents". That is it. --Why should I have a User Name? - I made the move because there is no justification for inventing a name for a book which already has a name. --Why should I have a User Name? (talk) 15:23, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
- The title should match that which is used in the majority of sources. "Talat Pasha's Abandoned Documents" gets nothing on Google. "Talat Pasha" + "Abandoned Documents" gets 164, and they mostly seem to be about the 2006 book ""Talat Pashas's Abandoned Documents". This article is not just about the 2006 book. "Talat Pasha" + "black book" gets 2510 results. Tiptoethrutheminefield (talk) 22:07, 2 August 2014 (UTC)
- However, on reading Sarafian's book on the papers, I see that the "Black Book" comprises only a part of the papers reproduced in the Turkish book. So it could be argued that "Talat Pasha's Black Book" should be a redirect to here. But that still does not get over the fact that "Black Book" is by far the most popular terminology used for the subject of this article. BTW, Sarafian gives the title translation as "The Remaining Documents of Talaat Pasha". Where does "Talat Pasha's Abandoned Documents" come from? Metruke also seems to mean legacy/inheritance - so another translation could concievably be "Talat Pasha's legacy of documents". Tiptoethrutheminefield (talk) 02:26, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
