Origin

[edit]

Once source[1] indicates that the origins of the story are unclear. The origins may in part be due to Hans Christian Andersen being the son of a cobbler, but it could also have as a source Dancing mania (also known as dancing plague, St. Vitus' Dance, St John's Dance and choreomania). The New York Times does establish he was the son of a cobbler.[2]
