I'm sorry, but per WP:WIAGA, there are criteria which are not met by this article.
First of all, while the GA nomination admits that the article is short, it could be considerably longer (even in the realm of discussing a one-act play). The article is not nearly comprehensive enough, per criterion 3(a). Why did Gilbert write the play- was it simply to lash out at Chamberlain, or had Gilbert always had the idea for this show? What was his writing process- was it always supposed to be a farce? Did he write it in a quick burst, or did it take him months (or years)? Where did he get financing? For how long was did the play originally run? Was it (critically and commercially) successful? Was it ever put in other theatres / by other theatre companies? Was the play ever published? The "comprehensiveness" criterion is less strenuous for GAs than for FAs, but I would still take a look at some Featured Articles, specifically those regarding literature, for some inspiration and guidance. In addition to the comprehensiveness issue, there are zero images in the article. Obviously, I doubt someone could find a photo of the original production of the play, but I'm sure there could be something appropriate. This would not be necessary for the article to become a GA, but it would certainly help.
Best of luck, and feel free to resubmit to WP:GAC when these issues are addressed. -- Kicking22220:21, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, until we have a Background section, I would almost call this article a "start" intead of a "B". But it's a very good start! -- Ssilvers20:54, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
